licorice flavouring. Its roots have a sweet or salty taste, depending on thickness and temperature.
An attractive plant with pinnate (feathery/ferny) leaves, it has been in cultivation since ancient Egyptian times. The roots are harvested in fall,
and the plant can re-grow. Hardy to -15C.
