Visiting our Store

Our store is open and has about 70% of the items we sell stocked. Our store is completely separate in systems from our order fulfillment department and our online systems. If it says available to order on line it does not mean it is in stock in our store.

When to start onions?

In Canada we grow long day and some late intermediate onions.  Long day onions begin to bulb when the day length reaches 14-16 hours. An onion plant does need to grow well prior to bulbing. But seeding to early is unnecessary and can hurt the quality of your onion both in size and storability.

We suggest seeding onions 8 weeks prior to your last frost. A smaller, vigorously growing plant always transplants better than a plant that has been in a cell pack for a while. Transplant shock will be less for the younger plant, and plants grow better outside in living soil.
